Dr. Lacy Garth, NP, PMHNP-BC

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Lacy Garth to Desert Clover Psychiatry. With over 15 years of experience in medicine and nursing, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to mental health care.

Dr. Garth holds two master’s degrees in nursing—specializing in Nursing Education and Psychiatric/Mental Health—and a Doctor of Nursing Practice with an executive leadership focus. Her academic achievements reflect her passion for advancing mental health care and her commitment to evidence-based practice.

As a licensed and board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Garth has over nine years of experience in various mental health settings. She has provided direct patient care as a psychiatric RN supervisor, behavioral health float pool RN, and pool psych RN in crisis facilities. Her diverse background equips her to understand the complexities of psychiatric care, advocate for her clients’ goals, and emphasize holistic wellness.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Garth is a seasoned nurse educator. She has taught at institutions like Brookline College, Arizona College, Arizona State University, and Chamberlain University. Her roles have included clinical instruction, simulation management, and online teaching. Her commitment to education empowers both her clients and the next generation of nurses.

Active in professional organizations, Dr. Garth has held leadership positions such as Chairperson of Government Affairs for the Arizona Emergency Nurses Association and President of Chamberlain’s Student Nurses Association. She co-founded the Chamberlain Mentor Program, mentoring and supporting nursing students throughout their educational journeys.

Her volunteer activities include serving as a moulage victim for the Advanced Trauma Life Support Course since 2001 and educating emergency department staff in Phoenix on caring for mental health patients. These efforts highlight her dedication to community service and improving mental health care access and quality.

Recognized for her excellence in nursing, Dr. Garth is a DAISY Award winner (2022) and was a DAISY Award finalist in 2021.

Outside of her professional life, she enjoys cooking, spending time with animals, and traveling. These passions contribute to her holistic approach to patient care.
